McKenna Light (she/they) was born and raised in Rochester, NY. She is a graduate of SUNY Brockport, where she majored in Multidisciplinary Inclusive Childhood Education and minored in disability studies. She currently holds New York State teaching certifications in both general education and special education for grades 1 through 6.

McKenna built her love for nurturing children through her experiences growing up in the performing arts. Over the past seven years, she has choreographed, stage managed, costumed, and directed countless shows across the Rochester area. This outlet for creativity gives her a unique perspective on how best to enrich the whole child outside of the classroom.

She is passionate about helping children discover their own unique strengths and abilities in order to create an environment where each student feels motivated to grow and learn. McKenna is thrilled to be collaborating with both Teacher Sue and the EBNS community to help facilitate students' exploration of the beauty of the natural world.
